3 Dead, 2 Injured In Alberville Plant Shooting

A shooting at the Mueller fire hydrant factory in Albertville resulted in three people dead, including the shooter.

ALBERTVILLE, AL — Three people are dead and two others injured after a shooting at the the Mueller fire hydrant factory in Albertville early Tuesday morning. An al.com report said an employee fired at coworkers around 2:30 a.m. The shooter is among those who died in the incident.

Albertville police chief Jamie Smith told al.com that the man believed to be the shooter, identified as 34-year-old Andreas Deon Horton of DeKalb County, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound around 6 a.m. in Guntersville.

The two people killed in the shooting have been identified as Boaz residents David Lee Horton (no relation to the shooter) and Michael Lee Dobbins.

Casey Sampson and Isaac Byrd, both of Albertville, were injured in the shooting. The al.com report said Sampson and Byrd were transported to Marshall Medical Center South and later to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.

Multiple handguns were recovered from Andreas Horton's vehicle after police found him dead, according to a report from the police.
