The original German Oktoberfest tradition takes place every year in Munich. It’s a cultural extravaganza, and this year, its celebrating it’s 184th anniversary. Now that’s a lot of beer!

When it comes to celebrating the German tradition in the states, Oktoberfest events in Alabama are famous for paying tribute to the country’s heritage and rich culture, as well as serving up a ton of German food and beer.

2017 Oktoberfests Across Alabama

Cullman Oktoberfest, October 4th-8th

  • 211 2nd Ave NE, Cullman
  • A city that is named after a German immigrant is guaranteed to have a great Oktoberfest celebration. Come to Cullman for a fun filled weekend of authentic German food, beer, games and more. In addition to all that, great music will keep you in good spirits the entire time you're there.

Moody Oktoberfest, October 7th

  • Downtown Moody
  • Moody's Oktoberfest is an annual arts & crafts festival that is fun for the whole family. The festival features live entertainment on two stages, arts and craft vendors, food, pony rides, inflatables, and more.

Auburn University Oktoberfest, October 21st

  • 241 S College Street, Auburn (The Hotel at Auburn University and Conference Center)
  • Auburn's eighth annual Oktoberfest comes to town on October 21st. Oktoberfest attendees will get to choose from more than 100 beers from local craft breweries and national brand favorites. German staples like bratwurst and pretzels will be available to purchase separately. Live music and TVs showing college football games will be set up throughout the festival.
