Alabama Man Among 4 Dead After Washington Rally
Four people died during the rioting and protests in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, including a 55-year-old man from Alabama.

WASHINGTON, DC — Four people died during riots and protests in Washington Wednesday following a "Stop the Steal" rally held by supporters of Donald Trump. One of those four fatalities was an Alabama resident.
Chief Robert Contee of the District of Columbia Police Department said in a news conference Thursday that one of the three people who died from "medical emergencies" was Kevin Greeson, of Athens, Alabama.
Contee did not say how Greeson died.

One of the people who died during Wednesday's events, Ashli Babbitt of Califormia, was shot and killed by law enforcement officers as she was entering the U.S. Capitol.
What started as a protest turned to a riot as a mob of Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol while Congress was in a joint session counting the electoral votes in the 2020 election. Some of the GOP members of congress had agreed to contest the electoral votes in some states, including several from Alabama's delegation.
