Ivey To Make Announcement Tuesday; Stay-Home Order Ends April 30
Alabama's coronavirus stay-home order is set to expire on April 30. Governor Kay Ivey is expected to announce more details on Tuesday.

MONTGOMERY, AL — Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey will hold a news conference Tuesday, two days before the state's stay-home order is set to expire. On Monday, two state lawmakers tweeted that Ivey has already informed members of the Alabama Legislature that she'll use tomorrow's appearance to announce the next steps for the state after the current stay-home order expires on April 30.
"On a call w/ members of the Alabama Legislature this morning, Gov. Ivey said she would make an announcement tomorrow (4/28) on her plans to begin reopening the state’s economy," tweeted Rep. Danny Garrett, R-Trussville.

On a call w/ members of the Alabama Legislature this morning, Gov. Ivey said she would make an announcement tomorrow (4/28) on her plans to begin reopening the state’s economy. She previously stated she would make decision about phased reopening of businesses on or before 4/28.

As of this publication, the governor's office has not released any specific details about the announcement. Last week, Ivey emphasized during a news conference that any plan to restart the state's economy would have to be done carefully.
