Sen. Cam Ward Announces Run For Alabama Supreme Court

ALABASTER, AL -- Alabama Sen. Cam Ward of Alabaster announced Monday he will run for Alabama Supreme Court in 2020. Ward has served in the state legislature since 2002, representing District 14, which includes parts of Shelby, Chilton, Jefferson, Bibb and Hale counties.

Ward is chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he worked at spearheading prison and criminal justice reform efforts and advocating for autism treatment. Ward also made headlines in 2015 when he was arrested for DUI in Shelby County.

Ward earned a bachelor's degree from Troy State University in 1993 and his law degree from Cumberland School of Law in Birmingham in 1996. He was admitted to the Alabama Bar Association in September 1996.
