2 Dead In Shooting Outside Circle K Gas Station In Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Two people were killed, and another injured, in a shooting in the parking lot of a Circle K on Roebuck Plaza Drive in Birmingham Saturday night.

Birmingham police said an officer was in the 200 block of Roebuck Plaza Drive around 9 p.m. when he heard shots fired in the parking lot of the business. In the parking lot were three men who had been shot, two of whom were pronounced dead at the scene and another who was taken to the hospital.

The identities of the fatal victims hadn't been released as of Sunday morning. The third shooting victim is expected to survive, police said.

Police said "a person of interest" was taken into custody at the Pizza Hut restaurant nearby at 9170 Parkway East after someone gave them a description of the shooter. Any possible charges hadn't been announced as of early Sunday.
