31-Year-Old Man Dies In Fairfield Shooting

The passenger in a vehicle in Fairfield died after multiple shots were fired Sunday afternoon in Fairfield.

FAIRFIELD, AL — A shooting in Fairfield Sunday claimed the life of a 31-year-old man. Douglas Crenshaw was found dead in Ensley after the shooting that occurred just after 3 p.m. near a business at 311 Valley Road in Fairfield.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a person inside a white Toyota 4 Runner opened fire on a black Dodge Charger in which Crenshaw was a passenger. The driver of the Charger left the scene, and Crenshaw was found dead in the 5700 Block of Avenue O in Birmingham.

"According to the video evidence of the shooting, there was also a black Chevy Traverse traveling behind the victim’s vehicle when the shooting occurred," Money said. "Detectives would like to speak with the occupants of the Traverse in relation to what they saw."
