Active Warrant? Jefferson County Amnesty Program May Offer Help
Through the program, eligible participants are offered a pathway to clear their warrants without the fear of arrest or detention.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL —Some people with active warrants in Jefferson County may be able to right their wrongs thanks to the county's upcoming "Back on Track" amnesty program.
According to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, the program will offer second chances to people with active warrants for failing to appear in court for a traffic ticket as well as those with misdemeanor and/or non-violent felony charges.
Through the county's amnesty program, eligible participants are offered a pathway to clear their warrants without the fear of arrest or detention.

Those who qualify for the program and hope to wipe the slate clean will have the opportunity to do so June 21-25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the courthouse in Jefferson County, which is at 801 Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. in Birmingham.
The Jefferson County Department of Public Health will also be there administering COVID-19 vaccines on June 21-22 to anyone who wants one.
