Alabama Coronavirus Cases Near 7,900; 290 Deaths
As of 6 p.m. on Sunday, the state reported 7,888 cases of the illness and 290 deaths.
Nearly 7,900 cases of the new coronavirus have been confirmed in Alabama and 290 patients have died from the illness as of Sunday, according to the latest numbers from the Alabama Department of Public Health.
The state has completed nearly 92,000 tests for the virus. The latest numbers as of 6 p.m. show there are 7,888 confirmed cases and 290 deaths in Alabama.
Since the outbreak began, 408 patients have needed to be admitted into the intensive care unit and 244 patients have needed a ventilator, according to the health department.

As in other parts of the country, the virus has infected 770 residents in the state's long-term care facilities and 503 employees in the facilities. Additionally, the department reports that 1,124 health care workers have become ill with the virus.

Mobile and Jefferson Counties have the most number of cases in the state with 1198 cases, 62 deaths and 969 cases, 48 deaths respectively. Montgomery, Lee, Marshall and Shelby counties follow with the most number of cases.
