Arrest Made In Fatal Birmingham Shooting

Police have arrested a woman in the Thursday shooting death of 44-year-old Louis Bryant.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — An arrest has been made in a Thursday shooting that left 44-year-old Louis Bryant dead, according to Birmingham Police.

Police charged 29-year-old Jasmine Drake with capital murder Tuesday.

The shooting happened just before 4:30 a.m. at 1516 Vanderbilt Road. Police say an altercation between Bryant and Drake led to the shooting.

Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham Police Department said Drake shot Bryant in the presence of juveniles under the age of 14 who were related to Bryant.

Drake is being held at Jefferson County Jail without bond.
