Arrest Made In Fairfield Robbery, Homicide
Jefferson County Sheriff's detectives identified and arrested a suspect for the murder of 27-year-old Jon Paul Matthew Kimber.

FAIRFIELD, AL — An arrest has been made in the robbery and shooting that led to the death of 27-year-old Jon Paul Matthew Kimber. The shooting occurred Wednesday near Gary Avenue and 49th Street in Fairfield.
Jefferson County Sheriff's detectives were able to identify 18-year-old Joydan Ja’niece Blackwell as one of the suspects in the shooting. She is accused of attempting to rob Kimber of his vehicle.
Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff;s Office said when Kimber attempted to fight back, he was shot multiple times. Money said Kimber and the suspects were acquainted with each other.

Blackwell is charged with capital murder, theft of property, shooting into an occupied building and robbery. Her bonds total $120,000 on all charges except the capital murder charge, which has no bond.
Additional arrests are expected in this case, Money said.
