Birmingham Apartment Shooting Leaves 41-Year-Old Father Dead
Birmingham police are searching for the suspect, who reportedly fled the scene following the shooting.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham police are investigating a shooting at a Woodlawn apartment that left a father of two dead.
Police on Saturday identified the victim as 41-year-old Robert Goodgame of Birmingham.
According to police, officers were called to an apartment at 962 53rd St. N. shortly after 3 p.m. Friday. When they arrived, they found Goodgame lying on the sofa with a single gunshot wound. Fire and rescue personnel declared him dead at the scene.

An early investigation revealed that a single gunshot was heard following a fight in the apartment, police said. The suspect reportedly fled the scene after the shooting.
No one is in custody and no motive has been determined, police said.

Goodgame was father to two children, ages 11 and 1, according to The Birmingham News. The 911 call was reportedly placed by Goodgame's girlfriend, who left to pay a utility bill and found the apartment door cracked when she returned, the newspaper reported.
