Birmingham PD Food Giveaway: What To Know

The Birmingham Police Department has organized a food giveaway this weekend in honor of National Women's History Month.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham Police Department's Community Outreach and Public Education Division has organized a food giveaway in honor of National Women's History Month in partnership with the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #1.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 13 at BPD Headquarters at 1710 1st Avenue North from 10 a.m. to noon.

Items will be distributed on a first come, first served basis as long as supplies last.

Patch has partnered with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimated that in 2020, more than 50 million Americans would not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
