Storms Leave Birmingham-Area Roadways Under Water
Heavy storms that swept through Alabama Tuesday left many parts of Jefferson County flooded.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A series of thunderstorms swept through Alabama Tuesday, which brought with it more than three inches of rain to parts of Jefferson County. The hours of rain throughout the day caused flooding in many Birmingham-area communities.
Multiple roads in Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Trussville, Mountain Brook and downtown Birmingham were closed at some point during the afternoon and evening due to flash flooding.
3.46" of rain here at the office in the past 2 hours. Lot of flooding around the airport property here. Folks, the heavy rain/flash flooding threat is NO joke. PLEASE stay off the roads if in Jefferson/Shelby Counties. #alwx
