Buffalo Rock To Expand, Adding Up To 50 New Jobs In Birmingham

Buffalo Rock announced a $75 million investment in a new center that encompasses about 77 acres off Lakeshore Parkway.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — One of Birmingham's oldest companies is expanding, and adding up to 50 new jobs to the Birmingham area. Buffalo Rock announced a $75 million investment for the a new distribution center that encompasses approximately 77 acres off Lakeshore Parkway, according to a Birmingham Business Journal report.

The expansion includes 895,000 square feet of warehouse space in the existing facility at 400 Industrial Drive and the adjacent 120,000-square-foot office building at 800 Lakeshore Parkway, according to the BBJ.

The company will add between 25 and 50 new jobs at the distribution center. Construction is expected to last about 12 months.

Headquartered in Birmingham, Buffalo Rock Company is one of the largest single-family privately owned Pepsi-Cola bottlers. The company, started by the Lee family in 1901, operates 14 distribution centers in Alabama, Florida and Georgia, servicing a population of more than 6.5 million.
