Domestic Altercation Leads To Deadly Birmingham Shooting
In what police say was a domestic dispute in east Birmingham Sunday, a person was shot and killed.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — One person is dead and another is in custody of the Birmingham PD after a shooting in east Birmingham Monday. The incident occurred at a resident at 3039 Chase lane just after 5 p.m.
The deceased has been identified as Jermaine Demarico Johnson, 48, of Birmingham.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald said the preliminary investigation suggests this was a domestic issue wherein a verbal altercation escalated into gunfire. The shooter remained on the scene and was taken in for questioning by Birmingham police.
