BIRMINGHAM, AL - During the last few years, the residential real estate market in the Birmingham metro area has been booming, and mortgage brokers have said the area continues to be a seller's market with demand significantly outweighing the supply. While the area has its share of affordable housing, there are also several homes on the market with hefty price tags.

Not surprisingly, many of these homes are located in Mountain Brook, with some located in Shoal Creek, Hoover and Vestavia Hills. The homes range in price from $2 million to $7 million.

According to Realtor.com, there are 16 homes in the Birmingham area listed at $2 million or more.
