BIRMINGHAM, AL — This past week started off in historical fashion, as Gov. Kay Ivey signed Alabama's medical marijuana bill, legalizing the use of cannabis to treat a limited number of medical conditions in the state.

Also in the news this past week, UAB announced it will close three of its four free COVID-19 vaccine clinics, as the demand for the vaccine has sharply declined in recent weeks. Alabama remains last in the country in percentage of people vaccinated.
