Most Dangerous Intersection In Alabama Near UAB Campus
A study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says an intersection on University Boulevard is Alabama's most dangerous.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Be careful when driving in front of St. Vincent's hospital near the UAB campus. A study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reveled that the intersection at University Boulevard and 28th Street South is the most dangerous intersection in the state.
The results of the study, published by Time Magazine, showed the most dangerous intersection in all 50 states, using the most recent data available, which spanned from 2003 to 2012, and used latitude and longitude coordinates to count the number of fatal accidents that occurred within approximately 150 feet of each other. We then focused on the accident sites that were at the crossing of two roads.
The country's most dangerous intersection was in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, the site of 7 fatal crashes during a 10-year time period. The-one mile stretch that includes the intersection had 144 crashes in a two-year span with 170 people killed or injured.
