New Vaccine Clinic Opens At Birmingham CrossPlex
Monday marks the opening of another COVID-19 vaccine clinic in the Birmingham, as 1,000 doses will be administered at the CrossPlex.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — Another COVID-19 vaccine center opens Monday, as the Birmingham CrossPlex aims to give 1,000 doses of the vaccine through April 27.
The site is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, and is a partnership between the Jefferson County Department of Health and MedPlus Consulting and Comprehensive Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.
Appointments for vaccines at the Crossplex can be made on the MedPlus website.

As of April 8, 20 percent of Alabama residents 18 and over have been fully vaccinated, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The state ranks 49th nationwide by that metric.

In Jefferson County, about 22 percent of people 18 and older and 51 percent of people 65 and older have been fully vaccinated as of April 8, according to CDC data.
Locally, coronavirus cases were falling 385 coronavirus cases were reported in Jefferson County between April 1 and 7; there were 454 between March 25 and March 31, according to data collected by The New York Times.
