New Year's Eve In Birmingham: Where To Ring In 2020

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Believe it or not, the 2010's are coming to a close, and a new decade is beginning in a matter of days. Celebrating the new year is easy in the Birmingham metro, as there are several events happening in and around the Magic City during which to ring in 2020.

Here are just a few of the events happening in Birmingham New Year's Eve:

A Gatsby New Year's Eve at the Redmont; Redmont Hotel, 2101 5th Avenue North, Birmingham, 9 p.m.: Join the historic Redmont Hotel with a Gatsby themed New Year's Eve party, featuring Souled Out Groove band, DJ Lee J on the mezzanine, passed hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and champagne toast.

Iron City's Roaring 20s New Year's Eve Party; Iron City, 513 22nd Street South, Birmingham, 9 p.m.: Come celebrate the end of 2019 and the beginning of the "Roaring" 20s at Iron City. Costumes are highly encouraged, and live music is provided by the Schmohawks.

Renaissance2020; Clubhouse on Highland, 2908 Highland Avenue, Birmingham, 9 p.m.: This New Year's Eve, most of the world (including half of Birmingham and The Fitzgerald Museum in Montgomery) will be throwing "Roaring 20s" and "Great Gatsby"-themed parties. However, if you're looking to add a little more extra to the ordinary, put on your 1920s best (or 2020s glam), and come to the Clubhouse on Highland this New Year's Eve.

New Year's Eve at the Woolworth; Woolworth, 1006 20th Street South, Birmingham, 9 p.m.: DJ Geno, from 107.3 Birmingham Mountain Radio, will be spinning some 90's tunes, so break out those outfits you couldn't let go of. The Woolworth will also be hosting a raffle throughout the night every hour on the hour.

Downtown GetDown, NYE Block Party; Downtown Birmingham, 6 p.m.: Experience New Year's Eve at some of the downtown area's most popular night spots. The Atomic Lounge, Carrigan’s Public House, The Collins Bar, Queen’s Park, Paper Doll and Pilcrow Cocktail Cellar host this New Year's Eve "pub crawl" of sorts. $10 entry to first venue and $5 entry to each additional venue.
