Secret Stages Returns For 2021: Festival Tickets On Sale
As Birmingham eases back into the live music scene amid the pandemic, Secret Stages announced tickets are now on sale for the 2021 festival.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — As Birmingham eases back into some semblance of normalcy amid the COVID-19 pandemic, one of the city's premier music festivals announced its return, and now has tickets on sale. Secret Stages, Birmingham's discovery music festival, will take place Aug. 6-7 in the Avondale Entertainment District.
Secret Stages 2021 will feature 30 bands on three stages in Avondale: The Avondale Brewery Courtyard Stage, an outdoor “street” stage and Saturn.
The festival was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and festival organizers vowed that the cancellation would not mean an end to the festival, which is now a decade old.

What sets Secret Stages apart from other festivals in Birmingham is that its organizers have put together a lineup that does not necessarily include "marquee" artists. The idea, from the festival's beginning in 2011, is for festival-goers to discover new music they may not have heard before — hence, dubbing the event a "Music Discovery Festival."
The festival in the past has included the likes of artists such as St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Lee Baines III & The Glory Fires, Dawes, John Paul Kieth, Seratones and Sun Seeker — all of whom have gone on to receive national acclaim.
