Shooting In Ensley Injures 8-Year-Old Child

A shooting Tuesday night injured an 8-year-old child 1400 block of Warrior Road.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A shooting in Ensley Tuesday resulted in an 8-year-old child sustaining serious injuries. The incident occurred in the 1400 block of Warrior Road.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said gunfire was exchanged between two vehicles on Warrior Road, causing one vehicle to crash. A family of four, including the 8-year-old girl, drove by the scene and stopped to help the people in the wrecked vehicle when gunfire erupted.

Police said the girl was taken to Children’s of Alabama with two gunshot wounds. She is expected to recover from her injuries.

Two other gunshot victims are recovering at Princeton Hospital in Birmingham.
