UAB Hires Casey Dunn As New Baseball Coach

Casey Dunn had been Samford's baseball coach for the last 17 seasons, and will now take over at UAB.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Samford University's head baseball coach for the last 17 season has a new gig, and he will not have to travel far to transfer. Casey Dunn was announced as the new baseball coach at UAB Wednesday by athletic director Mark Ingram.

"His relationships in Birmingham and around the country, along with his track record of success made him an ideal choice," Ingram said. "I am confident that UAB can be a dominant force in baseball if we provide the resources necessary for success."

Ingram added that the school plans to upgrade its baseball facilities, which Dunn said makes him hopeful for UAB's baseball future.
