UAB Vaccine Sites Closed Tuesday Due To Weather Threat
The threat of severe weather Tuesday has forced UAB to close COVID-19 vaccine sites in the Birmingham area.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Birmingham area is under an enhanced risk for severe weather Tuesday, which has forced UAB to close some of its COVID-19 vaccine sites in the area.
Vaccine clinics at the Hoover Met, Parker High School and Cathedral of the Cross Church will be closed Tuesday. All appointments will be rescheduled.
Due to inclement weather, the Hoover Met, AOH Cathedral of the Cross, and Parker High School vaccination sites will be closed today. Anyone with appointments will be able to come any other day this week.

UAB is administering the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine at all of its sites. A recent analysis by Pfizer of 927 confirmed symptomatic cases of COVID-19 showed the vaccine to be highly effective with 91.3 percent efficacy observed against COVID-19, measured seven days through up to six months after the second dose.

As well,the Community Vaccination Center at WaterMark Place in Bessemer will not be open Tuesday.
