UAB Vaccine Sites Closing Thursday Due To Weather Threat
A severe weather threat has forced UAB to close its COVID-19 vaccination sites in Jefferson County.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The threat of inclement weather has forced the closure of all five of the University of Alabama at Birmingham COVID-19 vaccine sites in Jefferson County on Thursday.
The Hoover Met site closed at 10 a.m., while vaccine clinics at UAB Highlands, Margaret Cameron Spain Auditorium on the UAB campus, AOH Cathedral of the Cross in Center Point and Parker High School have been and will remain closed for the day.
Several long-track, strong tornadoes, destructive winds and very large hail are forecast Thursday, as the northeast portion of Alabama has been placed in the high risk category for severe weather. Jefferson County remains in the moderate risk category.

UAB officials said those scheduled for vaccines Thursday will have their appointments rescheduled.
