High school students will experience intense mock courtroom trials in preparation for pre-law studies and law school. An online summer camp at the University of Alabama at Birmingham will host a “time travel” in history where rising high school juniors and seniors can reimagine actual legal cases and participate in mock mediation and mock trials.

The Journey to Attorney camp is presented by the College of Arts and SciencesDepartment of Criminal Justice. During an intense week, camp students will break down the actual United States Supreme Court cases arising out of the famous Scottsboro Nine trial and reimagine how correcting the injustice in the community may have kept the case out of the courts in the first place.
