Warrants Issued For Second Suspect In Fatal Fairfield Shooting

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is trying to locate a man they say was involved in the deadly Fairfield shooting June 16.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has issued a capital murder warrant for another suspect in the deadly June 16 shooting in Fairfield. Da’Marcus Gilliam, 18, is sought by law enforcement in the death of 27-year-old Jon Paul Matthew Kimber.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said Gilliam and 18-year-old Joydan Ja'niece Blackwell were involved in the robbery and shooting. Blackwell is already in custody, accused of robbery and capital murder.

Money said the investigation suggests that Blackwell tried to steal Kimber's vehicle, and when Kimber fought back, he was shot and killed.
