"Wintry precipitation is expected over portions of Central Alabama Monday morning," the NWS advisory says. "Many locations will have potential for a mix of rain and snow from midnight through mid morning before changing to rain. Locations across far northwest Central Alabama stand the best potential for a period of snow before mixing with and changing to rain by midday."

Snow is expected to fall early Monday morning, before gradually mixing with or changing to rain into the afternoon. Total snow accumulations are forecast at less than half an inch, and travel impacts may occur in the advisory area, according to the NWS.
