3,000 New Homes Slated For Highway 150 Development
Acreage off Highway 150 that is the proposed site for 3,000 new homes could be annexed into Hoover.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A proposal for a development that could include 3,000 new homes off Highway 150 in Jefferson County is drawing some criticism from area residents. A report by WBRC said the proposed development is near Lake Cyrus.
Although not inside the city limits of Hoover, Jefferson County Commissioner Jimmie Stephens said Hoover could end up annexing the property. However, residents cite the already congested 150 traffic as a concern, and Stephens told WBRC he is aware of those concerns, but said he is in favor of the project as long as "roads, traffic and school impact can handle the influx of students and people" is under control.
