Alabama High School Football Rankings: Bucs Stay On Top In 7A
After a win last week, Hoover improved to 2-0 on the season, and remained the no. 1 team in Class 7A.

HOOVER, AL — For the second week in a row, Hoover High School is ranked the top football team in Class 7A in Alabama. The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its football rankings Wednesday and kept the Bucs in the top spot.
Hoover defeated Cocoa (Fla.) 37-23 in the Freedom Bowl in Milton, Ga. Friday night, improving the Bucs record to 2-0. But the two wins are not just ordinary wins. Hoover defeated then-no. 1 and defending champion Central-Phenix City in the first game of the season before having to travel to Georgia to play one of Florida's traditional power schools.
The Bucs have not even started to tackle regional play, which is a task all its own. Hoover takes on Thompson this week in a rematch of the 2018 semifinals game in which Thompson came away victorious.
