Area Hoops Stars Make Alabama All-State Teams
Multiple girls and boys basketball players from Hoover and Spain Park were named to the ASWA All-State teams this year.
HOOVER, AL — The Alabama Sports Writers Association did not have look far for players to fill its 2020-21 All-State basketball teams, as the city of Hoover provided plenty of star basketball players this season.
From Hoover High School, senior guard DJ Fairley made the 7A boys first team, while sophomore guard Reniya Kelly made the girls first team and junior guard Aniya Hubbard made the girls second team.
Spain Park senior guard Cam Crawford made the boys second team.

Nominations came from statewide basketball coaches and are voted on by the ASWA prep committee.
The girls Player of the Year in each class will be announced April 3 while the boys Player of the Year winners will follow on April 4.

The Super 5 boys and girls teams will be released on April 8 with Miss Basketball announced on April 10 and Mr. Basketball on April 11.
