Barker Earns Top Alabama Basketball Award
Sarah Ashlee Barker of Spain Park was named Miss Basketball by the Alabama Sports Writers Association.
HOOVER, AL — The accolades keep coming in for Spain Park basketball standout Sarah Ashlee Barker. The All-State performer was named Miss Basketball by the Alabama Sports Writers Association, the state's top honor for high school basketball players.
Barker averaged 23.3 points and 10 rebounds a game this season. As well, the University of Georgia signee led her team to a 7A state championship victory over Hoover.
Barker was also named the Gatorade state Player of the Year, the MaxPreps state Player of the Year, and is the two-time Class 7A Player of the Year.

Barker scored more than 2,000 career points and grabbed more than 1,000 rebounds during her career at Spain Park.
