Bucs Enter 2019 Football Season At No. 2

Hoover is ranked second in the ASWA preseason football poll for 2019.

HOOVER, AL — The Alabama Sports Writers Association preseason football rankings were release Monday, and the Hoover Bucs find themselves in prime position to start the season.

Hoover begins the 2019 season ranked No. 2 behind defending state champion Central-Phenix City.

The Bucs made the semifinals last season before losing to Thompson in 2018, but return the nucleus of that team for the coming season, namely starting quarterback Robby Ashford. Ashford, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound dual-threat signal caller, threw for 2,542 yards and 22 touchdowns last fall and ran for 623 yards and seven TDs.
