Bucs Take Over Top Spot In New ASWA Rankings

Hoover's win over Central-Phenix City last week placed the Bucs at No. 1 this week.

HOOVER, AL — It did not take long - one game, exactly - for Hoover to reclaim the spot in the Alabama Sports Writers Association poll it has held more often than any other school in the last decade. The Bucs win over defending 7A champion Central-Phenix City last week propelled them to a No. 1 ranking in the most recent poll.

A last-second field goal led the Bucs to a 17-14 victory over Central in a game held at Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl.

Central fell to No. 3 in the poll after the loss.
