Federal Court Lays Down Ruling On Hoover Rezoning Debate
Rezoning of Hoover schools will go into effect at the beginning of the 2018-2019 academic year. Updated maps to be made available ASAP.

HOOVER, AL — Yesterday, the Judge Madeline Haikala of U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama made her final ruling on the debate around redrawing attendance zones for Hoover City Schools. This debate has been in the court’s hands since the spring of 2016. The rezoning plan will be made active starting in August 2018.
According to The Hoover Sun, the rezoning plan is meant to remedy unfair zoning practices of the past and to help usher in a better plan to accommodate the area’s growth. Hoover school officials are estimated that 1,900-2,200 students will be placed into new school zones.
