Grand Opening Of First Urgent Care Just For Children In Jeff. Co.

HOOVER, AL — Yesterday, Dec. 7, the first ever urgent care clinic catering to children had its grand opening. Urgent Care for Children (UCC) is located in Jefferson County along the 280 corridor two miles south of The Summit. The physician-owned clinic will act as a stop-gap for parents who need to seek medical care after normal business hours.

“Children often need medical care outside of the typical doctors’ office hours, so we exist to provide the same quality care that you experience at your family pediatrician, but during non-traditional hours,” said Maria Meyers, M.D., medical director, UCC, in an official statement. “We are proud to serve the greater Birmingham area with our centrally located Highway 280 clinic. Our physicians and staff look forward to supporting the medical needs of this community.”
