Hitting The Polls In Hoover: U.S. Senate Special Election
Turn out for the Special Election of Alabama U.S. Senate has been steady this morning, expecting to pick up throughout the afternoon.
HOOVER, AL — Alabama residents are on the world stage as the votes are cast in the U.S. Senate’s special election for Doug Jones (D) or Roy Moore (R). The polls opened across the state at 7 a.m. and will remain open for registered voters until 7 p.m. central time.
Nearly 200 people had voted by 9:30am at First Christian Church off of Valleydale Road, one of many polling places for Hoover and Shelby County residents. While standing lines had not formed like last year’s Presidential election, a steady stream of voters were seen entering and exiting the parking lot. The polling traffic is expected to increase as the day unfolds.
