The Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission is reviewing a rezoning and annexation proposal from a homebuilder for a site near Ross Bridge.

HOOVER, AL — The Hoover Planning and Zoning Commission is reviewing a rezoning and annexation proposal from a homebuilder for a site near Ross Bridge. A Birmingham Business Journal report said Signature Homes is taking the next step in its bid to bring a massive mixed-use development to the Hoover area.

Signature Homes is asking the City of Hoover to rezone and annex 833 acres as planned unit mixed-use for the Everlee development, which would feature 2,800 homes and 600,000 square feet of commercial space.

In November, the Jefferson County Commission approved the plan by Signature Homes, which has been involved in several of the largest residential developments in the metro area. Signature Homes closed on the property for $12 million.
