HOOVER, AL — One of the busiest intersections in Hoover will undergo some changes soon. New turn lanes will be added at the intersection of Highways 150 and 31, and others will be extended during a project beginning next year.

A report by ABC 33/40 said changes are aimed at reducing congestion and improving safety. More turn lanes will also be added on 31 in front of Jim N Nicks. That includes a long left turn lane along 31 northbound, and the right turn lane will be extended from 150 eastbound onto 31.

The project is in design phase. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2020. The hope is to have the new lanes open by the end of 2020.
