Hoover PD Attends Community Helper’s Week At Mitchell’s Place

The HPD visited Mitchell's Place, whose primary focus is early intervention for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

HOOVER, AL - The focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder has heightened in recent years, and facilities such as Birmingham's Mitchell's Place dedicate their work to research and treatment of ASD. Recently, the Hoover Police Department showed its support of the cause by attending Community Helper’s Week at Mitchell’s Place.

Mitchell's Place is a a Comprehensive Autism Treatment Center located in the Birmingham area, with a primary focus is early intervention for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

"One of the highlights had to be Officer Watson’s 'partner' hidden in the middle of all his police equipment (a stuffed animal)," said the Hoover PD in a social media post. "It was so cool to see the children’s reaction when they saw him."
