Hoover Police Officer Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge Sunday

Birmingham police officers arrested a Hoover police officer on Sunday, Dec. 17 on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge.

HOOVER, AL — Birmingham police officers were dispatched to a home Sunday night around 11:30 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. Once on the scene, officers identified the suspect as Hoover police officer, Timothy Pugh, 47. He was arrested and taken to Birmingham City Jail for booking around 3:40 a.m.

He was formally charged with third-degree domestic assault, which is classified as a misdemeanor. Pugh was released from custody at Birmingham City Jail twelve hours later. According to al.com, a HPD spokesperson said that Pugh is on administrative leave, and his situation will be determined after an internal investigation is performed.
