Hoover Public Safety Foundation Comedy Night Set For October

The Hoover Public Safety Foundation, Hoover Police Department and Hoover Fire Department will host Comedy Night 2019 at The Stardome.

HOOVER, AL — The Hoover Public Safety Foundation along with Hoover Police Department and Hoover Fire Department will host Comedy Night 2019 at Comedy Club StarDome October 1. The money raised from this event benefits Children's Harbor.

This year's featured comedian will be Henry Cho. Cho appeared on several television shows in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including The Arsenio Hall Show, Bob Hope's Young Comedians Special, MTV's 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour and VH-1's Stand-Up Spotlight. His other TV credits include guest roles on various sitcoms such as Designing Women, Lenny, The New WKRP in Cincinnati and a starring role in the TV movie Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation.

Children’s Harbor provides children with serious illnesses and their families a place to be
themselves – to have fun and relax – while also receiving no-cost services that make life a bit
easier for the whole family.

The foundation, a private group affiliated with the Hoover Police and Fire departments, raised
most of the money through a Night of Laughter event at the Comedy Club Stardome in
October 2018, according to retired Hoover fire Chief Chuck Wingate, who is chairman of the
foundation.

The event begins at 6 p.m.
