Hoover Schools End The 2017 Fiscal Year In A Surplus Of Funds
Hoover's school system ended the 2017 fiscal year with a $27 million surplus. This money has been moved to the bank and is on reserve.

HOOVER, AL — As the 2017 fiscal year comes to an end for the Hoover school system, their accounts are in the black. A surplus of $27 million has been put on reserve for the future. This is the second fiscal year in a row that Hoover has ended with money to spare since 2011.
Some of the main resources for the surplus came from a generous contribution to the system, refinancing funds for school construction costs and the sale of the old Berry High School campus, according to the Birmingham Business Journal.
