Hoover Schools Return To Staggered Schedule

The spike in coronavirus cases in Hoover City Schools has prompted the system to go back to a staggered schedule.

HOOVER, AL — Amid a significant spike in COVID-19 cases in Jefferson and Shelby counties in November, Hoover City Schools announced schools that had returned to full time campus learning will return to a staggered schedule.

The system said the student body had seen seven times as many positive tests last week as it had in the beginning of the school year. Faculty saw six times as many positive tests.

"Our students and school personnel have been similarly impacted," said a statement from the system. "In the case of personnel, we have been presented with staffing challenges."
