Loss To Thompson Bumps Hoover Out Of Top Spot In ASWA Poll
A new no. 1 team sits atop the Alabama Sports Writers Association 7A top 10 poll this week.
HOOVER, AL — For the third time in the young high school football season, a change has been made at the top slot in the Alabama Sports Writers Association 7A football poll. Noover's loss to Thompson Saturday dropped the Bucs from the top ranking.
After Hoover's 48-30 loss to Thompson, the Bucs dropped to 4th in the poll, and were replaced at no. 1 by the Warriors.
Not only did the Bucs lose a 17-point lead, but they also lost star quarterback Robby Ashfprd to injury in the fourth quarter. The Warriors scored 27 unanswered points in the second half on the way to an 18-point victory.
