National Founder Of Cop Stop Visits Hoover Police Department
The Hoover Police Department had a special guest at this month's Hoover Cop Stop visit.

HOOVER, AL — The Hoover Police Department had a special guest at this month’s Hoover Cop Stop visit. The national founder of Cop Stop, Joanna McNeil Young paid a visit to the department as part of the program's outreach to local communities.
Young started this community-wide outreach program in Germantown, Tenn., in October 2014. Residents in cities all across the country have formed local Cop Stop chapters to build relationships and bridge the gap between the public and its police department, but most of all give officers a chance to spend some quality time with the people they serve.
"As always special thanks to Hoover Cop Stop's founder, Brandi Guthrie," Hoover Police Chief Nick Derzis said. "The Hoover Cop Stop volunteers have always gone above and beyond these last five years. Our officers look forward to their visit every month, when we get the chance to share a meal and socialize together. We can’t thank them enough."
