New Publix To Open In Oxmoor Valley

HOOVER, AL — A new Publix grocery store is set to open this month, as a 48,100-square-foot location at 2860 Lakeshore Parkway in Lakeshore Pavilion opens Nov. 20.

The Lakeshore Publix will employ 125 people and offer a full-service deli, produce department, bakery, Aprons Simple Meals demonstrations, meat department, full-service seafood department, full-service pharmacy as well as the traditional food departments, according to a Birmingham Business Journal report.

The Florida-based grocery store chain has seen massive expansion into the Birmingham market recently. The Publix at Tattersall Park in Hoover opened earlier in November and a Publix Greenwise store opened this summer in Mountain Brook Village.

Publix is privately owned and operated by its more than 200,000 employees, with 2018 sales of $36.1 billion. Currently, Publix has 1,233 stores in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
