Tornado Touched Down In Jefferson County, NWS Confirms
Strong overnight storms toppled trees and took out power lines, sources report.
HOOVER, AL — An EF-0 tornado touched down overnight in the Bessemer and Hoover areas, the National Weather Service confirmed Monday afternoon.
According to the NWS, the tornado brought with it winds of up to 75 miles per hour and has been preliminary classified as an EF-0.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm moved through Jefferson County some time between 1:10 and 2 a.m. In its wake was debris including downed trees and power lines.

A NWS storm survey team will be sent on Monday to survey damage in the Shades Crest and Highway 150 area.

ABC 33/40 News also shared images of a large uprooted tree that fell on what appears to be a home and a shed, damaging the shed.
