Sam Swiney Wins Council Place 2 Seat
Sam Swiney defeated Robin Schultz in a runoff for Hoover City Council's Place 2 seat.

HOOVER, AL — Sam Swiney of Bluff Park won a runoff over Robin Schultz for Place 2 on the Hoover City Council Tuesday. Swiney won with 57 percent of the vote.
Swiney will serve his first term on the council and is scheduled to take the oath of office with new council member Steve McClinton Nov. 2 along with the incumbent winners of the council and incumbent mayor Frank Brocato.
Swiney, 37, is a claims specialist with State Farm insurance.
